Where would be the best clothes store to buy cheap job interview clothing?

I have lost a bit of weight since my last work interview and because i have been unemployed for a period of time i am looking to purchase a new job interview outfit in a smaller size. I have been searching online and cannot pick a good place to shop. I don't want to spend more than £50 on an outfit. Is this possible and where should i go for inexpensive smart clothes?

It depends a bit on what you like to wear, and what kind of job you're going for. I've managed to get a job in a jacket and trousers from Sainsbury's (so the clothes must have been up to interview standards!), and the big supermarkets all have workwear basics. Otherwise, I like justlastseason.com - they have a 29 squid and under page, and a dress off there might fit the bill?

Sainsburys are excellent, Tesco are really good and ASDA are okay for suits. xxx

I picked up smart black trousers for work from Primark for £5 last week.

One of my colleagues who looked very smart always used basic tshirts a couple of sizes too big; they looked like they cost a lot more because of the generous sizing.

The trouble with Matalan suits is, they look rather cheap (which to be fair, is what they are) - which is fine if you're not bothered about how you dress. You are better off spending more money on a good quality suit and then wearing the hell out of it.

Start looking in chazzers asap, can't beat it for quality if you know what you are looking for. Of you don't, then take a female friend with an eye for such things. You will find something suitable soon enough, at a fraction of the cost of new. Just make sure what you select is not dated or looks well worn.

Look the part and you'll feel so much more confident when you're interviewed.

Having recently had son outgrow first a charity shop suit then a supermarket cheap suit, I heartily endorse charity shops! A clothes savvy extra pair of eyes to help spot possibles, confirm how they look from sides & back and even spot missing buttons etc is worth their weight in rubies.
