Hello can you tell me if this sounds reasonable please. I am in the south-east and it is a very small bathroom.
The patch of tiling that needs to be done is literally two tiles' worth but means removing radiator.
-Replace faulty service valve to toilet.
-Remove & replace sealant throughout the bathroom.
-Where necessary rake out mouldy/uneven grout & replace.
-Fit free issue bath screen.
-Supply & fit plain white bath panel.
-Prepare & paint walls & ceiling. Paint TBC.
-Prepare & paint window seal & door architrave.
-Fit new tiles behind radiator.
Labour Plumbing, Carpentry, Decorating & Tiling - £1250
Total £1250
Materials Bath panel - £100
Timber - £10
Tiles - £10
Adhesive & grout - £35
Paint - £60
Sundries - £50
Rubbish removal - £80
Total (Any additional materials charged at final invoice) £345
Grand total £1595
The above pricing is a quoted cost based on finalised information. Any substantial changes
may incur an additional cost and must be discussed prior to start date.

Wow!!
Has he given any indication on time? I would suggest three days work. So he's charging £400/day for labour.
Bath panel could be £50 - £100 depending on type. Adhesive and grout - under £10, paint half of that and what rubbish is he taking away? A bath panel?

I hear good things about a company called Hometech-UK
My brother used them about 2 years for a similar problem and they quoted I think probably half that.0 -
I echo that you need to get another quote or even 2. There is a multi skilled self employed guy I use & he charges £160 per day plus materials at cost & puts in a good 9hr day.
This is in a suburb of London. This is the sort of worker you could do with, somebody who isn't going to rip you off with extremely high labour charges. Have you asked around friends, family, neighbours etc to see if anybody can recommend a suitable person to you?The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I can guarantee for one company that can do the rubbish removal for you. They come in time and do the job without any issue. You can find the prices here: benandjerry.org.uk/prices/0
