Tabby Cat Knitting Pattern?

Does anybody have any idea if it's possible to get hold of a tabby cat knitting pattern? I lost my beloved boy just over a year ago & although I do now have a rescue cat, I'd just love a knitted mackeral tabby boy to cuddle up to at night & make me still feel very close to my lovely companion of 18yrs, who I miss dearly.

I've looked on ebay, both for a pattern or ready knitted puss, but no luck & if I can find a pattern a friend will have a go at making one for me.

If you don't want to buy a whole book you could ask at your local library (for an inter-library loan if necessary), I'm sure I've seen these on the shelf in my local library.

NB all the pictures are taken from the Ravelry database of patterns. I would recommend looking at the pattern pictures on Ravelry as they are better than the amazon 'look inside' feature.

I adore cats, and would add more to our feline family but him in doors has said no. We have 4 female and 2 male cats as well as 2 dogs, all rescured. I will have to use one of these patterns s they are so cute.

Our public library has the illustrated books available, so saving a lot .


In the cats and kittens book there are two tabby patterns (one a cushion; on cover), plus a ginger striped one (also on cover)which could be adapted.


If the other book is like the two dog versions, the animals are quite small,but more realistic, while the other book has a range of sizes.

Only just seen this thread so apologies if you are all sorted by now. I just wanted to say that Pinterest is a site full of wondrous things ! I've found so many patterns for cats - knitted, crochet, cross stitch, appliqu!s quilts, felt, every fabric and method under the sun.
