Fence Quote

I've had a quote for some fencing for which I think is way over the top (due to basing it on some fencing I had done 4yrs ago)
I've been quoted £750 for the following
2 x 6ft panels
3 x concrete posts
1 x gate
4yrs ago I paid £300 for the following
6 x 3ft panels
7 x concrete posts
6 x concrete gravel boards.
No my old fella works at a builders merchants so I can probably get the materials at a reasonable price so in theory could have a go at doing it myself badly
What would you think a reasonable quote would be??
Cheers

Get another quote?
Most of the cost would be in the labour rather than parts IME.0 -
As Discat said, I'd get a couple more quotes.Loan: £9,500/£10,000
Mortgage over payments: £00 -
OTT. There is tops of £200 on materials (inc hardware for gate, concrete etc. Its probably a day for 2 guys.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

The labour cost will depend on ground conditions. If nice topsoil and subsoil it would be no problem.
If under the topsoil there is builders rubbish (as usual)it can be a nightmare.
Why not ask the original quoter to sweeten the deal. You are not too far off the mark.
A saying in the industry is that you can fleece a contractor once a year but only skin it once.0 -
.....my husband is a fencer and I've just read it out to him to see what he would quote....he reckoned £250 - £300 , based on the materials I read out! Get more quotes!0

Cheer all. I'm waiting on a couple of guys to ring me back, so I just needed a rough guide to go by.0

£200 for good materials. £250 labour. If there's no mad concrete under the ground I'd do that myself in one day.0
