Hi all,
Asking on behalf of a friend, as I cannot offer much help myself.
She has a laptop, phone and tablet and uses one email address (its a Microsoft Live email account).
When an email is viewed or deleted an on one of her devices, its still classed as unread and viewable on the other 2. Even deleting old messages doesn't clear them and she's lumbered with over 3,000 in her inbox.
Is there anyway these can be managed so that whatever device the email has been viewed on, the other devices are synced to know it has been read/deleted etc?
I suggested using a Gmail address, but she has so many accounts and profiles under a Live email account it would be a mega hassle changing.
Any help, please?

She needs to use IMAP on all devices instead of POP.
This leaves everything on the server and just downloads a copy to whatever machine you are using. When you delete a mail on a device it also updates the server info so it will also either get deleted from the other devices when she logs on (assuming that it had already downloaded a copy) or not get downloaded at all
I use this method to keep a desktop, 2 laptops and a smartphone all in syncThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
