Hotel Near Trafalgar Square

Hi all,

Im going to a concert next Sunday (9/9/07) at Trafalgar square with the wife the concerts actually in Trafalgar Square and is a free Chemical Brothers gig. Anyway ive just bought the train tickets to get from Bournemouth to Charing Cross via Waterloo for 2 adults they were £36.00 return which I thought was quite cheap. Anyway we are planning on going (and have train tickets) on the Saturday (8/9/07) and coming back on Monday (10/9/07).

Im trying to find a cheap well reasonable hotel for 2 adults for 2 nights and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? Ive looked on places like lastminute.com and searched google for Trafalgar Square hotels and also searched for Waterloo hotels but I dont seem to be getting very far. Im not at all familiar with London and have only been there twice in my life (im 32) so I suppose I could get a hotel further out and rely on a cab to get me to and from Trafalgar Square or the hotel reception might be able to give me advice on tube/bus services.

Travellodge Liverpool St has a double room on the Sunday for £26. It`s a one bus ride from Trafalgar Square. Unfortunately, its £75 for Saturday night. Booking through Quidco would get both nights for £93.80, which is pretty cheap at this late stage.

Hi ive just had a look on the Travellodge website and it dosent look like the £26 room is available for the Sunday either that or im doing something wrong. Im going to www.travelodge.co.uk any ideas?

Also im wondering if anyon else has any ideas to my original post i.e getting a cheap hotel nearish to Trafalgar Square for next Sat and Sun?

Still there at the moment. Are you sure you are clicking the £26 rooms on the left. Rooms do get sold quickly though and others may appear later. Try again.

Ok im clicking on the saver rooms link on the left hand side but for London Liverpool Street its not saying theres any rooms under offer between 8-10/9/07 when im clicking the hotels link its trying to charge me £75 per night? If possible please can you provide the link to the page in question.

Sorry - just got back. The room is now showing as £49. When searching, did you look for 2 nights?. Try again leaving it to default to 1 night. Keep looking, but if it`s still £49, the Covent Garden lodge is the same price and just a short walk away from Traf Square.

Another thought. Click on the £26 box. Change date to Sep 9 and click on the `all hotels` link. Scroll down to the London hotels. I`m not good enough with computers to give you a direct link.Sorry.

Travellodge County Hall is a great spot, and is 15 minutes walk from Trafalga Sq, a picturesque walk over the Thames. If its available of course.

Hi again,

When I click on 1 night for sun sep 9th its £26.00 for Liverpool Street. But when I click on 2 nights from sat sep 8th its £75.00 per night for the Saturday and the Sunday. The only way round this is to make 2 x order? one for sat for 1 night and 1 for Sunday for 1 night but not sure if that will be ok with them?

Yes - book the 2 nights seperately. Just tell them when you arrive that you are staying 2 nights and they will try to give you the same room. Saves them a lot of cleaning.
