When is the IOM getting Cross Rail?

I'll have to settle for the 'Steam Packet Ferry Co' I'm afraid or flying (which I will not do, because usually where I go, my dog also goes, and I will not fly him as cargo in the hold, it is far too risky).

The ferry is comparatively expensive, I think perhaps that they are trying to keep the 'Wood Green riff raff' out.

I've already realised that a move to the Isle of Man would be a nice little earner', but I've yet to establish what the non financial side of things would be like, but that too is looking very promising (at this early stage).

EDIT: Sorry fellow forumites, but I can see myself becoming the IOM equivalent of a Wood Green enthusiast (I can't help myself, we are getting so keen about the possibilities because it really looks like a beneficial move (for lifestyle, not just financial) reasons.

    I hope you like motorbikes;)

BTW, I guess this caught your eye?
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Not into motorbikes at all, I shall probably do what quite a lot of the islanders do and go on holiday last week of May/first week of June. But what I do like is running, hiking and cycling and the IOM has a lot to offer with those activities, plus a few more.

That property is obviously out of my league, but the good news is something like this is extremely (comparatively) cheap:

I was expecting (and prepared for) property being much more expensive than Surrey, so it was a great surprise to see a house like this. It even has 6.75 acres of land with it, this would be about £1.5m in Surrey!

I'm just beginning to get a bit of a feel for the island, and (at this early stage) I think that we would want to live in either Ochran or Douglas (they are next to each other and have almost half the islands population between them), they appear to have much more to offer (the only flat lawn bowls club on the island, indoor bowls, shops, restaurants, cinema, chess club, leisure centre and probably a few other practical things too like doctors/denists etc.), that house is in a remote area. Realising that, I thought that it would be much more expensive around Douglas, but it isn't, although you do get a bit less for your money:

But it is still far cheaper than some areas of Surrey.

I look forward to your plans developing chucknorris.

I've never been to the IoM and know very little about it really beyond daft looking cats and the TT.

We haven't been there either, we are currently looking at going there for a week (possibly longer) in July or August. Hopefully our enthusiasm will remain after visiting, after we have booked, I will contact the bowls club over there and arrange a friendly game, what they have to say will provide us with a very good insight into life on the Island.
