More importantly how long will it take for the rest of the U.K. to realise becoming independent from Scotland could now be a nice little earner ...Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -

Especially given that with interest compounded at the BoE base rate since the Parliaments got together the Scots should beggur off with pretty much all the UK's debt.:money:0 -
Surely the London and SE independence league is already campaigning for independence from rUK?I think....0

Well they've got their own oil.

Or at least 500 barrels a day of it. That's still about ten grand's worth. Every little helps.0 -
While much is written about oil. Little is said about gas. I guess because the vast majority of reserves aren't in Scottish waters but English. Never knew this until the other day. Removes a threat if relations were to get heated. :think:0

If the nats do renegade on the goal of independence, it would be timely to give Edward the 1st a proper burial.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0

I'll just leave this here shall I.
14 February 2016New gas fields off Shetland could supply 100% of Scotland's gas needs, analysts say.Advice provided to the Scottish Parliament Information Centre said peak production at the Laggan and Tormore fields could satisfy average demand across the whole of Scotland.
Operator Total started production at its new Shetland plant on Monday...In total, the two new fields, which have a lifespan of 20 years, will produce about 8% of the UK's gas needs. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Was news to Nicola too.NICOLA Sturgeon has said it is “news to me” that the SNP manifesto will not include a clear commitment to hold a second independence referendum.
But on Twitter, the First Minister, responding to them, said: “News to me! Manifesto not finalised yet.”It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

I've already realised that a move to the Isle of Man would be a nice little earner', but I've yet to establish what the non financial side of things would be like, but that too is looking very promising (at this early stage).
EDIT: Sorry fellow forumites, but I can see myself becoming the IOM equivalent of a Wood Green enthusiast (I can't help myself, we are getting so keen about the possibilities because it really looks like a beneficial move (for lifestyle, not just financial) reasons.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
