Egg Car Insurance. Normal procedure?

I wonder if anyone can kindly provide experiences of the above?
I was recently involved in an accident which resulted in damage to both cars.
No one was hurt and the police were not involved.
The circumstances were tedious but I would be happy to explain them if required.
Anyway. My insurance company has decided that I am to blame. This without completion of a claims form and without any interest in photgraphs I took at the crash scene.
The decision was aparently made as a result of a telephone conversation. At no time did I admit liability. It is as if Egg has completely believed the third party and disregarded my explanation.
Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions please?
Kind regards to all.

It really does depend on the circumstances. For example, in a simple rear-end shunt, 99% of the time the party at the rear is clearly liable for the damage, without the need for photographs, witnesses, accident report forms etc.0

As raskazz says, many accident circumstances are clearcut, e.g. emerging from minor road onto major road into the path of another vehicle / rear end shunts etc.
Very few firms use claim forms these days, dealing with everything by phone. It would have been nice though if the customer advisor explained why you were to blame and asked your permission to deal with the third party claim on the best terms available.0 -
Many thanks Raskazz and Mattymoo. Sound advice and much appreciated.
I WAS emerging from a country lane into a busy B road with a 30mph limit. A teenage driver came blazing around a blind bend to my right, well in excess of the speed limit, and 'glanced' off the front of my car.
Anyway, as you suggest, I think I'm going to have to 'grin and bear it'. But I'm grateful for the advice.
Very best wishes.0 -

From and insurance viewpoint (doesnt mean I agree with it!)
- His age doesnt matter.
- His speed doesnt matter as it cannot be proven in a court.
- You were emerging onto a road, he hit you. You are at fault as you were the one not have checked carefully enough.
It can be a !!!!!! sometimes what with entrances onto blind corners but unfortunatly thats the way it is.0 -
but thanks for the opinion.0
