I think Madam F is referring to when the brown stuff hits the fan fund. Happy to be corrected ;)

Good to hear you are feeling better then you were Bob, no, no porch unfortunately, I don't think we'll be going again for quite a while which is a shame as it is a nice place but it wasn't worth the cost today (soaking clothes/so really cold didn't feel like staying longer) and would definitely go on a dry day (which kind of defeats the object as if its dry we'd rather be out in the fresh air rather then in a museum/tech/science place indoorts!)

I reckon it might be worth complaining to their customer services people because at the end of the day that's a huge oversight for a big attraction. Could get some money off your next visit. If and when you choose to go back. Worth a punt :)

    Hi all!
Hope you've all had good days and managed to keep warm & dry! It's been lashing it down all day here!

So my money saving stuffs today have been:
Food from stores- no naughty lunch or dinner buying
Working from home- blankets and hot wheat bags to keep warm rather than popping heating on
Moved money into bills accounts as it was payday on Monday & updated budget apps and spreadsheet!
    Free postcode lottery
Did lots of competition entering in my lunch break too!

Not money saving but paid £300 deposit on legal fees for solicitor for buying my first home today! I have rented since for 14 years so moving into the land of having a mortgage is scary but exciting! Celebrated with a cheeky frothy coffee (instead of going out for expensive drinks!)
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Jonno - Sorry for acronym use. It stands for 'When the ....um....brown stuff hits the fan'......or what you call your emergency fund if you're a drama queen.

Ziggy - Possibly sell them, if I can tweak the pattern to what I want. I am experimenting with different styles of whiskers at the moment! Just knitted a ginger & white stripy and am now casting on a brown one. Might do a grey one after that or a sort of tabby.

  • Late check in from me just to say that I've had an amazing day with my friend. No matter what is going on for us, we always feel better when we see each other (and we have supported each other through some particularly rubbish times over the past 10 years). I ate too much, talked too much and laughed a lot. Which is always a good thing. :D

    [STRIKE]:p Check banking and PAD[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p Minimise use of heating - weather is miserable but not cold[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p Catch up with really good friend[/STRIKE] :j:j:j
:p Low or no spend day - depends if I go out to buy pizza toppings for kids to make lunches Ended up doing the weekly shop while I was out £18.92
    [STRIKE]:p Do one survey [/STRIKE]
:p Make time for crochet Nope:eek:
    :p Exercise Nope
[STRIKE]:p Try not to stress (if that is possible)[/STRIKE] Totally possible
[STRIKE]:p Do not get distracted and think I need to do housework when I don't[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p Grab 10 minutes on my own, to myself, just me.[/STRIKE]

Everyone needs a friend like that in their life. Someone who never judges, and even cares about you when you're at your worst. I'm lucky to have her - I just wish we lived a bit closer to each other because we only manage to catch up during the school holidays.

  • Hello lovelies

Normally at this time I would be fast asleep, for some reason I'm wide awake and looking for quite things to do so I don't wake everyone.

Whilst at our HE group today I was able to catch up with a friend who I am worried about as she is currently in a bad place, I need to make more effort to touch base with her regularly, others in our friendship group are also concerned so hopefully she will reach out when she is ready, in the mean time we just need to reminder her we are here when she needs us and offer her practicle support like a meal or taking the children to one of the regular groups so she is free to attend meetings or just have some time to her self.

Well I have finally managed to pop back and catch up with everybodies day and share the excitment (or lack of) of mine with you.

    Today I have:
    Opened the curtains fully
Closed curtains before it gets dark
    PAD
    FPL
Post on here for motivation and inspiration
Turn off lights and appliances not in use
    Stuck to the meal plan
    Educated children for free
    Entertainied children for free
Sorted out my next few weeks HE resources for free
OH printing resources at work for free, with permission
Minimal heating, we have jumpers and blankets
    NSD

    I'm sure I did more but I can't remember what :o

79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
