Can you pay for a credit card from a credit card?

Hi guys,

Newbie here!

I have a big chunk of money being refunded to one of my two credit cards.

I want to pay off the other credit card with the money from the first (which is in now in credit).

Is this possible?

Thanks a lot!

I don't think paying a card with a card is possible but have you asked the card provider with the positive balance if they will refund it to your linked bank account? Barclaycard will and others say MBNA.

Great idea mrs T! Thanks a lot. I will ask them, although it's Halifax...?

    Really appreciate the help.

You could always try a balance transfer otherwise as MrsT suggests refund and pay

thanks guys - ever so kind.

I won't do a balance transfer as the card in debt, was a recent balance transfer.

    Thanks though

If they said they wouldn't, couldn't you just force their hand by saying you wanted to close your account? Then they have the choice of paying you and keeping you as a customer to try selling things to, or paying you and losing that option.

My old Creation credit card accepted credit card (visa or mastercard) payments online.

And although people above say they will probably refund your balance to a current account, I've never seen anyone have such a request denied, so I'd personally say it's pretty much guaranteed that they would refund you either by cheque or to your bank account.

    What difference does that make?

Hi, from my experience I have not known a credit card that will do this. I believe this is called balance transfer. but be aware some balance transfers are charged so be sure to check. If it were me as I have had refunds to my credit card I would ring up the company and ask them to transfer the credit into my bank. Then pay my credit card off from my bank account.:D

Call the credit card provider and ask them to refund the credit amount to your bank, they should do this then pay your other credit card off.
