There is a lesson to take from this, check your bank statements. If you don't then you don't have full control of your finances - you're more likely to end up in debt, and you're easy prey to scammers. A stray £10 transaction each month is £120 a year, £1200 in ten years. An easy way to make lots of money from those who don't keep an eye on their accounts.
To be fair I make sure I keep an eye on payments going out, and know where they are going and what they are for.
I wouldn't say necessarily that I would notice if a payment that was meant to be there wasn't, unless it was for a significant sum and I was specifically looking for it.0
