Return postage on Defective Monitor...?

Just bought a monitor off Kikatek. Total friday night lemon. Flickers like crazy and has wavey broken lines. Clearly not fit for purpose. Regarding returns, I've just looked at their FAQ. Buyer has to pay return shipping costs.

Really?! You've just sent me a lump of junk, now I have to pay for the honor of returning something you shouldn't have sent me in the first place.

These people don't even have a phone number. My god, I'm shafted. Anything I can do here? Cuz it aint going to be cheap.

As the seller is a trader, and the thing is faulty, then you can reject the goods for a full refund, and the seller must cover the return costs.

Mention The Consumer Rights Act if need be.

How did you pay? Hopefully by credit card.
If so, then MSE's Section 75 article may also be useful.
What was the purchase price?

But before all that, it is reasonable for them to ask you to pay the return cost and they should refund that cost when refunding the purchase price.

Their returns policy is wrong to state that the customer must pay for the return of faulty goods.

In future, check out the returns policy of any web-based company you wish to buy from BEFORE you buy. It is just as important as price.

The lack of a phone number should also have set alarm bells ringing.
