I met my in-laws before I met my husband!
My best friend had been living with his brother for several years and his parents were visiting them.
Met the brother a few months later and we were married the following year (best friend and his brother broke up shortly after)Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Sadly, I never met mine. DH's dad passed away many years ago, early 1980s and his mum passed away November 2001; DH and I first met January 2002. He tells me they'd have liked me though, because I make him happy.
On the other hand, I've still never met his sister; she and his ex-wife loathe each other, and she's convinced herself that I'll be just like the ex for some reason.
His other sister I met just once, at our wedding in September 2003; sadly she, too, has passed away.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
He met my parents on our 3rd date and I met his mum on our fourth. So within 2-3 weeks.0

I met OHs brother on our second date (they lived together) and his parents when we had been together 8 months - no mean feat as they live the other side of the World but we decided it was important for me to meet them so we flew to New Zealand to do so.
Only met his other brother last year though, over 2 years after we first got together, and he only lives a few hours away. Yes to meet his sister who is also other side of the World....working my way around them slowly :rotfl:Let’s just pretend I have not been alternately drowning in debt or only eating toast to try and pay it off for the last 20 years 😭0
