Working holiday insurance

My son is going to Zante in May to work the season through until October. He is a DJ & will be taking some expensive equipment with him and also his laptop. We need to sort out his travel insurance but have no idea which is the best route to go down as conventional travel insurance only covers for short terms. Any help or advice is gratefully accepted.

Thanks in advance

I worked as a DJ in kavos in my younger days! I took out backpacker insurance to cover me for 3-4 months. Probably wouldnt cover everything but enough for the serious things.

Alpha travel insurance is quite good for long stay and young persons insurance - http://www.alphatravelinsurance.co.uk/

Things like his laptop could you not cover at home for all risks as well. My advise with laptops is to always have a backup of his music and always have the cash to hand to get a new one. Im sure he would anyway but have a good selection of stuff on CD in case of emergency to get you through the night. i have witnessed a DJ abroad get caught short mid set and didnt have the right CDs for the night! Tragic :) The heat in clubs out there can be crazy and can affect your laptop.

You need to carefully check what the single item limits are on any policy intended to cover expensive equipment.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
