We have national trust Scotland membership and visit Kent properties regularly, never had a parking issue. In fact, no one in houses, gardens etc has ever even commented on the Scottish membership.
    Great loophole.

  • However we recently got into Stonehenge for free which is EH via a reciprocal agreement on our NT cards and it specifically said that the Scottish NT was excluded from the arrangement.

The fact that NT rarely enforces parking regulations dosent mean that its "OK"!

Quite. It's the nature of the reciprocal agreement between NT and NTS that makes it o.k.

If there were an exception for car parking charges then the pages I quoted would be the place where it would be shown.

I accept that you got your information (about car parking charges being excluded from the reciprocal agreement) from somewhere, and believe it may have been true some years ago but not today.
  • Sorry to resurrect and older thread, but i'm hoping to get a family membership for National Trust, however I cant afford £111 so was hoping to get NS for Scotland instead but am concerned the reciprocal arrangement is no longer valid (or might change after purchasing) and whether we ever worked out whether parking was included?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks so much!

loxley108 - reciprocal arrangement still stands, we are NTS members and live in central England, we have no trouble visiting the many NT properties near to us, or others when away on holiday. Never had a problem using NT car parks either.
