E2Save - cancelled contract

Options
Hi,

Hopefully someone will be able to offer advice on the best steps to take.

In May 2015 I took out a contract through e2save with the ID network. I then changed my mind and refused delivery with dpd and asked the phone to be sent back. I emailed e2save the date i refused delivery and cancelled the agreement, they told me once they received the phone back it would be cancelled.

About a month later a direct debit came out to id I called them and was told to contact e2save which I did. Several emails passed and I was eventually advised yes they had the phone and everything would be cancelled. I cancelled the direct debit.

Today I signed up to experian credit expert and can see a account in default of £151 to id. I have contacted them to be told it is still active with them and to contact e2save.

I have emailed e2save. Please could someone advise on how I should proceed and how to get this removed off my credit file. I'm trying to clean it up after bankruptcy and this will have a big effect.

Thanks.

You need to write to them to make a formal complaint - I would pick the phone up and ask for the correspondance address of their complaints department so your letter gets to the right desk first time.

I had a very similar issue with O2 but left the direct debit in place - obviously despite various assurances, they still went ahead and debited the full price of the phone (a 128GB iPhone 6 so it wasn't a small amount). I was expecting this and fortunately had the funds to deal with it.

I was expecting their cockup and decided it would be easier to let them mistakenly take their money and then refund it back to me than suffer the damage of an automated default and all the hassle of getting that removed.
  • Thanks. I'll print off all the emails and send them with a letter.
