Hi M271 - there shouldn't be any more form filling from here.

We only ask your MPAN/MPRN if we can't find a match back from the national database.

Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact my gas is carried by an independent carrier - I seem to recall having this question asked many years ago when I moved supplier and they were unable to match me to a database. Maybe if your's is not carried by an independent carrier then you appear on the database and as such do not need to be asked?

It is exactly that. IGT gas meter numbers are not readily available to all suppliers. There is a new IT system being rolled out with is (was) due to go live in October 2015.
