Rowing machine or cross machine...

Hello all. I'm thinking of getting one of the above to improve my fitness but not sure which. I've been looking at different models, not bothered about 'programmes' just to get something robust but no matter what model I look at somebody has reviewed it as being rubbish! Given I can't stretch to a professional piece of kit does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to spend more than £350 and aim to spend an hour a day on it. So far I've thought about the Bodymax E60 cross trainer and the Tunturi R25 rowing machine. Many thanks to anyone who can suggest anything.

If you are using it that much I would suggest something more professional.
Look for second hand Concept 2 rowing machines on the usual sites.
Gym grade, professional rowing machine which will last forever, cost around £800 new but usually plenty of second hand ones, especially this time of year when people start to lose their new year resolutions.0 -
Think you're right. Not seen a single bad thing about them0

How much you looking at spending?
Xercise 4 less is £120 for 18 months if you pay upfront.think a gym membership is far better that a cheap peice of equipment0 -
Sorry £350 - that would get you a good few years at a cheap gym chain, commercial equipment amd you can just do far more0

Sorry...should've added that being a working single parent means going to a gym is problematic/impossible and the nearest isn't very near.0

I used to row 8s and even at the height of my training could not conceive of doing an hour on a rowing machine. They are hard work - if you are doing it right.
I'd go for a cross trainerI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I use both of these items in the gym on a regular basis, but just cant imagine doing a full hour on either.0

A 20 min session is all that is necessary if doing it properly.0
