Picket fence

Hi

I need a white picket fence replaced around my front garden.

Each side is 10 feet and the front is 26 feet of fencing plus a gate in the middle, so a total of 46 feet plus the gate.

I've had a quote of £1,060 including painting. I'm in Twickenham. Any thoughts much appreciated.

You can buy various lengths of picket fence from the sheds.Depending on what you want (softwood,hardwood UPVC ETC)
It should be easy to install.
You will have to dispose of the old fence but you will have a line to work to.
You have made no mention of your quote details so I can't comment further.
A simple google should help you decide on quality you want.

Thank you - sorry, this is to supply (from a third party company) and fit.

I was actually quoted either £620 for supplying and fitting a factory made rounded picket fence plus gate painted, or £1,060 to supply and fit a bespoke pointed picket fence plus gate painted.

I didn't get details of the type of wood, that's a very good point, I'll ask.

Any further advice much appreciated.

Hi Dan
The word bespoke has nipped into the equation.This is a new ballgame.
It would be worth posting(no pun intended) the material/paint system and even ironmongery for the gate.I'm sure more knowledgeable forum members can then help.I would want belt and braces to insure in keeps its looks.
All timber will require maintenance.
You will only be doing this only once (hopefully) so make sure it ticks all the boxes.
