So what do you do when you drop ship a £500 side board and the customer wants to return it in line with the CCR's which is a legal right?

You have to take it back but your drop shipper doesn't so your stuck with it. This happens to drop shippers all the time, returns are your problem so you need deep pockets when it all goes wrong.

    Why doesn't the drop shipper?

    Why doesn't the drop shipper?

There are two transactions, customer with you, and you with drop shipper. Customer has legal consumer rights, business to business pretty much doesn't.

Possibly you can do a deal where they contractually take returns, but there is no 'right', and they can reasonably refuse. Either way, transport will eat into the deal bigtime.

And if they do agree to accept returns they may well charge a restocking fee.

Could you negotiate a system where you introduce clients and the furniture company handle the sales, delivery and returns? You would receive a fee for each sale.

This would involve you trusting the furniture company and also persuading them that you can give them enough leads to make it worthwhile.
