Chinese export companies

Sorry- couldn't think what to call this thread!

I'm sure regulars have all come across the shipping companies that some buyers use to have their items sent overseas, most of mine have been in roughly the same area and many to various companies using the Crusader trading estate. They are easily identified because buyer attaches a note to purchase telling selling to box well, and to mark all the details, including sender ID and item number in large letters on the outside of the box.

For those who don't know how these work all that happens is that parcels go to the same UK address, usually a company with premises in a lock up storage facility or on a trading estate. They relabel all the items and send them on to their clients overseas. These are very often used by Russian buyers as they are blocked on many selling accounts due to excessive delays through customs, and it is becoming increasingly common for Chinese and other Far East companies as well who are now buying back some of their own antiques.

For information I've just had a new shipping address, one I haven't seen before (I have removed the identifiable reference number and the first name of the shipper as it appears to be a private individual) but the address is:

xxxxxxx CHOI (GETS)
776 BUCKINGHAM AVENUE,
Slough Berkshire SL1 4NL
United Kingdom

These are nothing to be worried about if you have tracking as you merely track to the address on paypal which is the shipping company and they do the rest.

  • Had a few of these, in fact posted one yesterday and the buyer asked for the EBay item number to be written in the front

    Never had any problems.

In all my years of online selling I think I have had three issues, all of which were years ago. Had trouble with 2 books going via Amazon to a place where people were reporting real issues- however Amazon did not compel me to refund on either as they were both reported months after the estimated delivery date. The third was an ebay one, quite low cost but within the past couple of years after I started using MyHermes. Parcel clearly showed as arrived and buyer complained about the delay in getting to him as despite parcel showing as arriving at the trading estate his shipper seemed to have failed to send it on- however, he was unable to open an ebay case and opened a paypal one instead which was closed immediately because I had tracking, and buyer stated in the case that he knew it had arrived with shipper but shipper was refusing to respond to questions about what happened to it after that.
