Okay, so a couple of days ago i made a post regarding a grievance against my manager- i took the advice on here and decided to hand in my notice ( One Week ) - Today however my manager has given me the option of not working my notice - im keen to take her up on the offer however im not familar with any company ever offering this and was always under the impression that if you dont work your notice its just like walking out from your position (which often results in not being paid your months salary)
So firstly, has anybody experienced this, If so was was the outcome..
Also she advised me to put it in writing that i wont be working my notice period but im slightly unsure weither there is a catch! she has assured me that i would still be paid as normal and she will ensure my unsused holiday pay is paid into my account aswel.
I was thinking of drafting something like an extension to my resignation and getting her to sign it as my worry is that come payday i will have nothing in my bank account and she will deny everything she said (beleive me she is that malicious)
Would this protect me?

The company is able to tell you not to work your notice - but it is not for you to say that you will not work it. If you did that you would indeed forfeit your pay (at least for the period not worked).
I haven't read your other thread and therefore don't know the back story on this but certainly do not put in writing that you will not be working your notice. Be prepared to turn up every day - unless you are instructed, in writing, not to attend.

Ive not received any written confirmation from the company regarding my resignation.. however it was only handed in today.
I was thinking that if i was to write an agreement which both myself and my manager would sign confirming i would not have my pay forfited would this protect me should i experience any issues ?0 -

Do you know for a fact that your manager has the authority to agree this?
I'd say that you work your notice until your employer tells you otherwise. The very fact that she thinks that you get to say that you'll not work your notice and still get paid suggests she doesn't have a clue what authority is required to arrange garden leave0 -

Im happy to agree that - obviously but im just wanting to get her to sign something to confirm this and protect me.
Surely it is her responsibility to check this with head office and by her actively offering this she is acting on behalf of the company.

On 15/02/2016 I issued my notice confirming the last working day of my employment to be on 22/02/2016.
Following on from our telephone conversation in the afternoon of 15/02/2016, As agreed I would like to confirm that I will no longer be working my seven day notice period on confirm my last day of employment to be on 15/02/2016 (yesterday).
As a result of my original notice period being shortened I would like confirmation that as a result NO pay up to 15/02/2016 will be sacrificed and my remaining 'holiday leave' be paid in addition to my salary.

No. I would not write that letter. That says that you have agreed with your manager that you will not be working your notice but not that it was at the employer's request.
I would simply say to her that if she doesn't want you to come in, she must confirm in writing that that is what she/the company want, not simply what has been agreed with you which could still suggest that you were the one to initiate a request not to work your notice period.0 -
you've already been advised twice not to write anything, least of all that letter.
So don't do it. And stop believing what your manager tells you. Matters of employment contract need to be between you and the Personnel or HR Manager.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

I think people are thinking of two different things here. Occasionally someone will hand in notice and be put on garden leave - where they are paid for their notice period, but not working. This is more often heard of with people who might know secrets about their old employer (who the clients are, what the forward finance plan is) and the old company doesn't want their knowledge to be up to date when they leave. You are not talking about this, but simply about being paid up to date and severing your contract now - no work in the notice period and also no pay. In effect, you will be leaving immediately by mutual agreement and you will be sacrificing your pay - for the next week, which you haven't worked. It is much more likely that your manager has the authority to approve this, than the gardening leave mentioned by a poster above.But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Simple . Check if this will be garden leave or PILON in writing with a followup letter.

I have read your other thread - and what I would say is DO NOT write any more letters.
If your manager does not wish you to come on let her write a letter to that effect to you. From what you have said she does not sound like a ray of sun shine - she may be trying to imply to higher management that you refused to work your notice - once you had in your original resignation letter indicated you would. If head office are taking your first letter of complaint about her treatment of staff seriously to have the person who made the complaint seem to be a flaky person who goes back on their word would help her case if there was ever an investigation into the matter.
Yes this week may be hell - but you will get to smile smugly at her for the week hoping head office are investigating the original complaint.

Do NOT send that letter. If you want to write anything at all, your letter should be along the lines of:
"Dear Manager,
Further to my resignation letter of [date] I understand that my employement will end on [date] when my notice period expired. I confir mthat I remain ready wnd willin to work up to my final day.
In our conversation on [date] you told me that you did not wirh me to ork suring my notice period and instructed me not to attend work. You confirmed also that I would, of course, still be paid as I remain employed until the end of my notice period.
I will of course comply with your instructions but to avoid any misunderstanding would be grateful if you could confirm these in writing. If I don'r receive your writen insturtions I will assume that I will be working my normal shifts during my notice period and will attend as usual to do so.
