FaceTime and Whatsapp breaking up

After using either FaceTime (video or audio) or WhatsApp calls for around 10 minutes the sound and/or picture is breaking up. We can see/hear the other person but we are freezing at their end.
Any ideas? We've only tried in the house. We're in Spain with a consistent 20mb connection and internet TV works fine (even if on when calls are freezing).

. Just done a test - upload only around 1mb as opposed to download which is presently fluctuating between 4 & 11. What is strange is why it will work for 10 mins ok?
