E119 boiler error - won't re-pressurise

Hi all,

Hope you can help as I'm freezing!!

Lived in my flat for about 4 years and my Baxi Eco 25 has needed re-pressurising on a few occasions after getting the E119 error message.

Each time I have sorted it using the method in the video below, no big deal:

(the boiler above isn't my exact model but the tap configuration is identical)

I've come home tonight to a cold flat and the E119 message but when I have gone to re-pressurise the system isn't not doing it.

I open up the taps but there's no sound of it re-filling and the needle doesn't move. I've definitely opened out the taps all the way.

Any ideas???

No, there's no filling loop on this model (or maybe one is built in).

As per the video it's just two black valves you need to open...

You do have a filling loop, it is called a 'rigid filling loop'.

    Watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfIfXFKE4w4

Remove the rigid filling loop as shown in the video, check the rubber seals and for any blockage etc.

While the loop is removed you will be able to check that water flows when the cold water supply valve is opened.

If necessary unscrew the screws holding the plastic knobs onto the valves and check that the knob is actually turning the valve shaft.

Either of the valves could be seized internally preventing water flowing.

It is a filling loop, just one with tap style valves on it rather than quarter turn handles.

If you can't hear water coming through it when both are open then it's either no water is reaching the inlet on the loop (unlikely if you can get cold water out of your taps) or the handle has worked it's way loose from the valve (does one of them seem looser than normal?). If the latter you might be able to tighten the screws up on the plastic taps so it can control the valves underneath it.

I'm concerned that you have needed to top up the pressure so often, is there a leak somewhere? I've only ever had to top up our combi boilers when I've bled and changed radiators, never needed to do for routine maintenance.
