I wish to switch to Santander 123 account. However I have been asked to supply the debit card details of my current account. That does not seem correct. Your views please?

It is standard practice when switching accounts to provide the new bank with the old bank account sort code, account number and bank card details. So don't worry about it too much.'If you ain't living life on the edge you are taking up too much room'

It's one of the security measures to ensure it's the account holder who is requesting the switch.

Why don't you think it sounds right?0

Sounds about right. They have to deactivate your old account and debit card in order to issue you with a new one.0
