I am staying in Salou 13 -17th October, just me and my 3 girls aged 5,6 & 13. Prefer half board. Would like to be close to beach and centre, don't mind if its one of the neighbouring areas like La Pineda or Cambrils, but must be easy to get to in a taxi from Reus. I would prefer 4 star if poss as I have been previously and stayed 3 star and wasn't that impressed. Money not too much of a problem but the Port Adventura/El Paso is abit too expensive!
Thanks

don not go AI in salou0 -
i went to salou that time of year a few years ago AI, it was booked through a travel agent and we paid quite a lot for it. there was 6 adults and 3 kids. what the travel agent didnt tell us was this was the spanish's holiday season (not that i have anything against spanish people) only we there was only about 50 english people and 300 spanish people in the hotel so all the food, entertainment etc was geered towards the spanish, it was a nightmare holiday, so much so we went on to recover the cost of our holiday. So please be careful in booking your hotel.
I would suggest going for a hotel right in the town centre, look for lots of reviews on the hotel to see when their summer season ends! Check out trip adviser as Deva said and then try travel republic or xcapewithus to book coz there nice and cheap!0 -

Hi, i've just got back from Salou nightmare journey MY TRAVEL never again, beautiful hotel,Marinada has 2 parts, hotel and apartments can use facilities of both, not too far from centre just far enough to be able to sleep, facilities include jacuzzi, solarium, mini golf, gym, kids club and entertainment of some sort every night, some things have a small 1or 2 euro charge, its the only hotel i've ever stayed where the bar prices are cheaper than on the street and not watered down. I think it is in the Aspro brochure, hope you have a good holiday0

We had a nice holiday at the Cambrils Princess a few years ago and managed to get one of the front rooms with a massive balcony. (Look it up). Entertainment was good. Can't remember the food but Princess Hotels are good quality anyway. If you do go for this one make sure you don't get rooms at the back as a railway runs close to the hotel. You could try booking direct. Princess Hotels are bound to have a web site. I don't think Reus airport is that close. If you boked your flights its too late now but I can think of nicer places, closer to the relevant airport..and warmer than Salou. You can get good prices from the Sol Melia web site for many hotels.0

Stayed at the Dorada Palace about 3 years ago - it was really nice we had a one bedroom aprt, self catering - didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Only thing I wasn't impressed by was the pool, only because it was a weird shape (it curved inwards) which made it look small, but that's just being picky, it was certainly clean enough.0

We stayed in the H10 Europa Park in May and it was good; there are other H10 hotels in Salou too and they are also good - we visited just to have a nose about.
The hotel had a great children's team who really made the holiday for our daughter.
I think that you should ignore star ratings to be honest and just look at what other people think of the place. On TripAdvisor for example, the H10 Europa Park is listed as second most popular hotel in Salou from those who've reviewed it.0 -

I've stayed there and it really was the pits, there was actually a condom in my bed _pale_
Cye holiday center is ok, its a lovely hotel but don't eat there, food isn't that good.
The hotel we always return to is Club Dorada Palace, I absolutly love it there, food isfab, staff are lovely, rooms are spotless and smack bang in the right spot. You have the beach and prom about 4-5 mins away or in the opposite direction you have the theme park about 8 mins away. We go there all the time now. Would live there if I couldWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
