When having a crafty sort out I came up with an idea.

I found some lovely craft items that I never used (and having too much stuff actually stops me getting around to crafting) and I sent them to the charity shop hoping whoever sorts donations 'gets' craft and doesn't bin things like beautiful backing papers as I find eBay too much effort and they charge fees. I was also browsing on here of people asking where to get craft stuff and trying to raise money for charity all on the same day.

My idea is we post on here offering any craft items we have in our stash that we aren't going to use and the cost of postage if you would like it (I know some people are often happy to cover postage costs themselves), if someone sees it and wants the item they pay the postage and text a standard donation of £5 to charity.

So in short, I post here that I have a beautiful velum verses pack I no longer want, someone does want it so they send me their details and text £5 to charity. They have gained an item cheaper than buying from a businesses, I've decluttered my stash and charity has gained £5.

What does everyone think? Anyone up for it? I'm trying to raise funds for the charity Post Pals to take seriously ill children on a fun weekend away ( http://www.postpals.co.uk/news/post-pals-weekend-appeal/ ) and I'm also trying to reduce my craft hoard!
Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

    Its against forum rules.

Also, demanding a certain amount per item/bundle isn't a way to conduct anything.

Not quite the same but how about your local freegle group. or if you do face book offer the stuff you don't want on your local neighbourhood page you could always suggest that the person picking up could donate a sum of money they are comfortable with to a charity of thier choice? It is nice to try and do some good with the stuff you have no use for.

What a very nice idea Vickki-louise, I am a member of a facebook group run by Jen Gale called "make do and mend-able pre-loved" there is no charge for selling, everything is done privately between the individuals involved. I don't know if this is something that would interest you? you just need to request to join the group. They are a very open minded group and would probably embrace the charity idea you are putting forward.
