Your mums house is getting these letters as that is the address that the DVLa have.
you should get in touch with the DVLA and change your address if it is different. Debt collectors can not go to the house and can not knock on the door demanding goods and money.
they have no more power than any member of the general public, all they can do is send threat o grams .
The danger here is that your mum could be opening your mail for you, and forwarding the important stuff , or the envelopes could even be branded with debt recovery or some other such nonsense which could make your mother worried
As for above you do not give any clues as to who was the driver on the day no I did this, he did this my mother/brother sistser uncle aunt freind or anything you refer to the driver as no more than that, do not say He/She/I/parked say something like: From what i understand, the vehicle was driven into the car park where the driver then parkedFrom the Plain Language Commission:

its also worth noting that any cease and desist letter will not work anyway, they have the right to write to the RK at the address on the V5C and will continue to do so (as will their agents or sub contractos) regardless of any letter you write
but as PG says above, writing a letter that acts as a witness statement for the claimant is tantamount to "suicide" , hand it to them on a plate why dont you ?lol
if they have the drivers details it makes it easier for them to start court proceedings
when we ask you to read sticky threads and debt collector threads, we hope for compliance (but rarely do we get it)0 -
Wow Pappa Golf, what was the need to be rude? I had said I have read them and have, what is the need to accuse my of not being truthful. A very odd remark.
This was an email I wrote much earlier on today before having looked in to anything and coming across this thread. I put the above in the title to the email except for the bit about admitting to parking which I put in the second paragraph down.
Papa golf, if my post fustrates you so much, please save you self the anger by saving your accusatory comments for elsewhere. However, if anyone is feeling a little nicer then it is much appreciated.0 -
Thanks for your replies,
The only reason I keep things in my Mom's address is that I move every couple of months for work and have had problems with things being sent to old address as they don't keep up as quick as I move! My mom did open them and foward them but I have been quite self admittedly useless due to my exams.
I think I'm going to call the hospital parking team tomorrow and go from there, hopefully working bottom up might be the way foward!
Thanks again ☺0 -
here is some simple advice then
separate the 2 entities first
LEGION GROUP
any letter from them should be opened promptly and read, in case its about court action , they will write to the RK at the address on the V5C, nothing you say or do will alter this
DRP or ZENITH or some other debt collector letter
do not open them , do not read them , IGNORE THEM completely, put them in a folder marked IGNORE in black marker pen and keep for 6 years - do not even ask about them on the forums, its nauseous and pointless , nothing can be done so dont bother trying
https://bmpa.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203589972-Debt-Recovery-Plus-Ltd-also-t-as-Parking-Collection-Services-Zenith-Collections
COURT LETTERS from a county court, such as Northampton Bulk Centre , Salford Centre or any county court
open these and read them promptly, getting advice before doing anything and making sure you keep to any deadlines
if you get any letters from a solicitors, open and read them , treating them like court letters unless proved different (like debt collectors pretending they are solicitors)
if this does not answer your questions, then perhaps you are asking the wrong questions, because there is nothing other than the above
yes , take the trust to task as you pay to park there, quote the Jeremy Hunt guidelines at them , get the union involved too
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principles/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principles
if you get the Beavis petition signed and get as many family , friends and work colleagues to sign it too then maybe we will get changes made to these parking scumpanies

ok my first posting :
ok , I think you need to read the newbies thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
and also this one about debt collectors
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035663
do NOT ring or write to the debt collecters AT ALL
please tell us the name of the parking Co that issued the original ticket ? "
to which you replied with a "please forgive me" letter that you intended to send to the parking Co.
if you had stopped and read the links provided you would have seen that its clearly stated DO NOT ADMIT TO DRIVING/PARKING.
If you don,t like my down to earth replies then try writing to Marjorie Proops or whatever.
you need to contact the HOSPITAL , even try the PALS section , and get them to kill this NOW .Save a Rachael

some times people can read into things that are not really there ....
basic (sad) rule of internet forums ........
The advice that you get here will not be bettered anywhere
Please remember that there are no professionals here .....
only a bunch of forum regulars that do this for free ..........
The forum is one of the busiest I know of ......... we get dozens of newbies per day and it can get a little frustrating when advice is not always acted on ........
some times PPC trolls like to post to wind up / take up time from forum advisers ......
so please do not take to heart what PG has posted .... he is trying to help .... as is every one else ...
any way
carry on
and
good luck

Thank you Ralph. Everyone on here has been so useful (and tbf, so has PG when reading between the lines, although I still think accusing someone of lying is distasteful at best, not down to earth). I came on here because I think you guys have got fantastic knowledge in everything I've read on here for non professionals. I didn't come here with the aim of causing debate about posts anyway, just merely for some newbie advice, so will leave you all be, but thanks so much 0

You don't need to worry about Legion Group nor debt collectors. Please don't start getting into lengthy correspondence. DO NOT REPLY AGAIN.
I would not have replied at all, it's pointless if you've missed the appeal deadline earlier. You've also given away who was driving so they will be rubbing their hands with glee and sending the rest of the debt collector letters with a hope that you are a naive victim who might just fold and pay them.
No-one here replies to debt collector letters.
However, a complaint to the Trust isn't pointless so escalate that if fobbed off at first. As Redx said, quote the Jeremy Hunt guidelines at them, get the union involved too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I can't remember the last time that Legion Group / OCs ever issued proceedings. I am perfectly willing to stand corrected but I really do not recall them ever having done so.
@OP - as for DR+ they are a debt collector and they only have any leverage if you give it to them as they have absolutely no more power than you or I to collect debts - but they don't want you to know that. That is why they make a lot of fuss and issue all kind of threats peppered with words like "may" and "could". The very worst DR+ are going to do is to send you some letters printed (partially) in red. Being chased by any debt collector is like being mauled by a dead sheep.
You are beyond the appeal period - shame but we are are where we are - so do as C-M has suggested, steel yourself and ignore them.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
