Sheils it can be isolating in a city. When our children were small there were so many comings and goings here in the house. Now we only have DD1 fairly near no other relatives close. People are so pressurised with work and their journeys to work or looking after GKs.

Yes, had noticed you go away a lot. Good on you. We have family on south coast so frequently pop into Kent. We did try to move out when our children were young but work was here. We hoped to move to Yorkshire. Now we have good hospitals near.

Hope you don't worry too much about your parents on holiday. Where we are going there's a good hospital up the hill. So once we have the flight over no worries.

Goodness alfie you have been through the wars a bit. Got to keep positive though and not give in. I have two grandkids who I want to see grown up and successfull so no point in sitting in a corner feeling sorry for yourself. I have a shopping trolley so will just haul it along when I eventually get in to town. Will get the bus down there (two stops. usually walk but needs must) . Enjoy your garden

Tired this morning but we had a great evening. Forecast rain didn't materialise. There were big crowds in Leicester Square. We saw Hugh Grant being interviewed. Then went and joined a queue so missed Meryl Streep.
Yes we walked the red carpet! Sadly I only found my camera just before we went and not much battery. Typical.
We had brilliant seats in row H in the stalls. Celebs were in the circle.
The Sponsers, producer, directors and three main actors came on stage and spoke at beginning. They had three main charities, Alfie Help the Heroes got a very big clap.
The film has a simple true story but Meryl Streep was brilliant and DH said it was the best we had seen Hugh Grant. The third main actor Simon Helberg was also excellent. It was very funny and thought provoking.
    A great experience.

:T:T:T So pleased for you leanfun, it all sounds wonderful! :j

I've never been lucky enough to attend a film premier at
Leicester Square let alone walk the red carpet! :p :rotfl::rotfl:

I  and support HELP for HEROES - it's a charity
very close to my heart, particularly as lovely daughter is
married to a RAF pilot. (He's such a lovely man!)

I support a few other charities too - anything cancer/
heart related (due to losing dear family members to these)
and of course the odd animal charity!

Yikes - just received my post - got letter from 'Fraud
Operations' at my bank saying 'that an unauthorised source
might have got hold of my card details' and they are
    sending me a replacement.

Just off to check my account .

    Thank you leanfun. :A

I have checked the account online and all seems ok. Local
branch (two villages away) unfortunately closed down so
will have to go to another village and get them to check
letter and that it's legit! I'm even wondering about that
    now!

Peace of mind and all that. :)

Best, as you say, to be careful, so much scamming going
    on these days!

Will have bite to eat then make my way there.

    Will update later.

    Quick update ......

Got to my nearest bank, lovely lady looked at letter, asked
me to put my card and pin no. in so she could check from her
computer. Sure enough the Fraud Team had put a message
on about 'unauthorised source might have got hold of my
    details'!

She said I had done exactly the right thing to come in and
gave me free fone number to ring and I'm just off the phone
    from them now.

I spoke with a lovely lady in Fraud Team and she said that it
had happened either at an ATM machine  (using a card
reader) or somewhere online where I had purchased
    something.

I have to say - the Fraud Team are excellent! :T Don't
know how they spot things like this but they are really
    on the ball!

She said they are keeping a close eye on my account and
the new card will be with me within a few days.

Phew - better safe than sorry. :p I'm always so careful
with my card but you never know these days.

    Brilliant news Alfie.

However careful you are it can happen to anyone. Good job they are as you say on the ball.

So pleased it's all sorted for you.
