need easy clean gas hob - recommendations

Options
we urgently need a new gas hob (current Neff model is dark brown enamel and very easy to clean but overall just about worn out.). We should like a 5 burner model with a wok but seems like enamel is no longer available and choice is brushed steel or glass.

All the reviews say both these surfaces are difficult to keep clean and some say wok rings rings are too, trapping fat etc. For me would not matter but OH cooks a lot of stir fries and is pretty casual about cleaning up. So need a surface which will take a lot of wear and not take forever to clean.

Can anyone recommend anything from personal experience.?

Pick one where the rings etc are easily removed (these could be cleaned with oven pride etc in one of those plastic bags if they get too clogged up) and where the surface is stainless steel (easy to wipe, can scrub without causing any damage and it's what is used in the catering industry). Try to find one where the hob markings are well away from the burners so you don't scrub them off, ones where they are under something, ones that are engraved into the hob or ones on the knobs themselves.

I've had glass in all of the kitchens I've re-furbished, no problems.

currently using the 4 burner version of this one

I have a Neff brushed steel which I find very easy to clean, especially the hob grids, which are not all chunky & fiddly like some hobbs on the market. They are so easy to simply wipe over.

I had the same hob in my previous home & when I moved I wanted the same one, but found it had been superseded. I didn't like the look of the new model so much, especially the hob grids, but then was lucky to find the model I wanted on ebay, completely unused & still packaged, from an ebayer who'd decided to go for a completely different one.

It's worth looking around for something that has been superseded if it has the qualities that you prefer & make cleaning it easy.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Go for the one with the Ceramic glass if your budget permits it, else the tempered glass. Its inherently easier to clean that steel as food doesnt burn onto it in the same way and a very smooth flat surface means it scrapes off very easily with minimal risk of scratching.

Get an induction hob. Everyone on here raves about them although I do not have one but wish I did.

My AEG has a stainless steel hob, with removable rings. I don't find it hard to keep clean. I don't have a problem with the wok ring - mainly because when you stick a wok on it, the one place that doesn't get covered with cooking oil is the wok ring itself.

Be aware, though, that stainless steel is remarkably soft. If you attack it too hard with a scrubber, then you will leave scratches.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
