single overseas transfer

I need to send about £300 to an individual in Australia. Hadn't realised it would be hard . Tried to do it online through nationwide but realised they want 8 account number digits and the recipient has 6.

What's the best way to do this? I have a revolut card if it helps too

Use a currency transfer site like Xendpay or transferwise. That will take a much smaller chunk of your £300 in commission.

Try transferwise. They are brilliant and cheap for small amount transfers.

or for a one-off, it is difficult to beat Paypal for simplicity.

To ensure overseas payments are made to you swiftly and without any difficulties, you need to provide the following information:

• Bank name: Commonwealth Bank of Australia
• BIC/SWIFT Code: CTBAAU2S
• BSB number (...)
• Account number (...)
• IBANs are not used in Australia. However, payers in certain countries may require you to provide one. In that case, your BSB and account number should be combined. Do not include any spaces or hyphens. For example:
  • 06200011111111
  • (BSB)(Account no.)
