Advice needed on claiming benefit or grant for postgraduate student

Hi,
I've just moved out to rented accomodation and my partner has moved in with me. She previously lived with her parents.
She is starting her Legal Practice course in Chester on Monday and we were wondering whether she can claim any benefits or grant.
She has paid her fees (just under £10k) already but we only have my wages coming in regularly now and I wasn't sure whether it is possible to get any help, even if it's just a few quid a week towards her travel costs.
The household income is just under £20k if that helps!
Thanks a lot everyone!

It is not possible to claim any benefits during the LPC.
It may be possible to request assistance from the Access to Learning Fund, but with a household income I doubt you would be eligible. £20K between the two of you is a great deal more than many students have!
If your girlfriend has a disability, it is possible to claim Disability Learning Allowance during the LPC.Gone ... or have I?0 -
If she's a full time student, you should be able to get a council tax reduction of, I think, 25%.0

Forgot that one (you've just reminded me, I need to renew my exemption)!
Your girlfriend will be exempt from paying council tax, and therefore you can claim a single person discount of 25%.Gone ... or have I?0
