foreign websites doing business in the UK

Regerence to this link:

What does the UK law say about foreign websites and ltd companies who do business in the UK? Do they have to put any foreign registered business name/address/ltd details on their website? For example: If they do a service in the UK and Poland, do they need to put polish company details on their UK web pages (i.e. contact us web pages)?

Thanks

Peter

A foreign company can trade in the UK via their website without having a physical presence in the UK so so what your link points to does not apply. In which case they shoulkd follow the rules for their country.

As I understand it, the requirement to include the name and address of the business on the business website stems from a requirement under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002.

As Poland is a member of the EC, I would expect the requirement to exist there too.

It probably does but the UK follows the diktats slavishly and acts on transgressions while a lot of the other countries ignore any that don't suit them. That is the 'joy' of European harmony.
