Part of the Furniture 500 Posts Combo Breaker
I have an Android phone (Sony Xperia Z3 compact) and want to be able to listen to podcasts. I listen to LBC and they have podcasts, as do other radio stations.

Looking at Youtube I now see there is a whole load of available podcats available, on a wide range of topics.

I think I would quite like that, but need some advice please.

Youtube have many people recommending Beyondpod Podcast Manager, but when i go to download it from the Google Play Store there seem to be many poor reviews.

Is there a better podcast app, for Android ?

Also, my phone has the ability of adding a memory card, which I think would be a good place to save all the podcasts. Do all podcast apps give you the opportunity of saving files on this memory card. I don't know why, but I would have thought it a better option than clogging up the phones main memory.

thank you for any advice provided

I used their software (assuming you mean the Shifty Jelly version) on my nexus phone and love it - especially if you backup your podcast subscriptions using their cloud service which makes installing on a new device. The ios version is still on sale - how do you know is is discontinued?

You'll be hard pressed to find a better podcast app than Beyondpod.

If you're not sure, why not try it out and remove it if you don't like it. You get the full feautres for a week and then it drops back to the lite version if you don't buy the unlock.
