Options
I joined fidor some month ago ,on fourth of February I transferred money into account for first time ,I sent four hundred pounds by faster payment, as yet it hasn't arrived.I have chased it up with my bank who confirmed they have sent it and fidor do have the funds ,all I get from fidor over last week or so is "hmm this sounds interesting.. We will have to look into it " I'm at my wits end on what to do

Been looking at their website, Looks just like a prepaid type of account, Where you use your account reference when sending the payment so they know who's getting a payment, Did you include your reference number....

As mentioned above, it might be in their receiving account without the correct reference and will eventually bounce back (or they will be able to match it to you and credit it to your account because of your phonecall).

It's usually considered sensible to send a £1 test transfer to avoid these situations.

A prepaid account is exactly what it is.

For info log in, click the "My Products" tab, then on the left side choose
"Your Sort Code & Account Number". There you will find the relevant details and your Fidor ID Number which is the reference which must be included.

If you haven't already done so, you will need to submit your 6 digit letters and numbers personal code and verify it with email and SMS. It's all about security but not necessarily all about that base :)

The main hub of Fidor is their community forums and secondly their Facebook page. Might take some getting used to if you're used to more traditional banking services.
  • I sent the payment with all the correct details acc sort and fidor Id ... Fidor claim it is not on their sytems
  • It's been nine days and I literally have been given no info by them ,my bank metro have sent a payment trace which fidor have ignored ....should I call actionfraud?

Quite frankly, I don't see how you can get help for your Fidor UK account here. You would be better asking for help in the Fidor UK community forum.

In the meantime you should read the T&Cs, in particular the sections concerning dispute resolution and the alternative complaints procedure. Basically, complain to the bank, give them at least 30 days to reply and a further 30 days to rectify the problem and then enter a dispute with the German authorities. That's not to say though that our own banking ombudsman service will not accept a complaint.
  • Do you work for fidor?

I spoke to FOS last week and they confirmed that they are not able to take on any complaints about FIDOR.
Your first option might be to ask for your compliant to be escalated, but after that, I'm afraid it's the German authorities.

I'd specifically ask Fidor to talk to whoever deals with their clearing queries (most organisations have differing names) It's probably sitting there waiting to be allocated.

I specifically warned about this German aspect to any complaints in this Fidor thread (post 19) .....

I was replied to in post 21 that I was wrong and people could use the UK's procedures to make complaints.
    Ah well......
