restaurant refuses to reply

I cracked two teeth when biting down on a Papadom with chutney on it. I spread the chutney, and unbeknown to me it's main ingredient was plum with the stones still inside.
I did not know it was plum. Nobody warned me of the danger. The stones should be removed.
I spoke to the deputy manager and requested the incident be recorded in the accident book but I was told they didn't have one. He gave me the email and contact of the staff responsible for complaints. I have now sent two emails and a recorded delivery letter, and still they decline to reply. I have made every reasonable effort to resolve the problem but to no avail. From just having two cracked teeth I now have anxiety issues, tooth discomfort and need to take pain killers.
Can someone please tell me what I can do to make the restaurant take responsibility.

Your problem might be remedied more quickly if you contact a dentist.0

Agreed, it's always the same thing over and over again dramatised emotions in a bid to make the situation seem far worse than it actually is all in the name of extracting £££.
OP;
Have you been to a dentist? Perhaps you should start here and ask them to produce a report/detail of exactly what has happened.
Next find the trading address of the restaurant and send a letter recorded delivery outlining the findings from the dentist and exactly what it is you want them to do - this should be reasonable and not "my dentist says this will cost £500 to put right and on top of that I want £4,000 for stress and anxiety"...
Note, use of emotions such as "anxiety" usually only gets peoples backs up, especially business owners as it is usually a big red flag to say you're trying to get as much money as possible - unless you've been to a doctor whom has confirmed this, don't bother.
It might be best to post exactly what you have already emailed to the restaurant...0 -
In all seriousness, plum stones are massive. How much chutney did you put on, and how did you miss it?0

Yes, big signs should be prominently displayed warning of the danger….of chutney.misterhyde wrote: »Nobody warned me of the danger.

You cant hardly miss a plum stone, its easy to spot. You sure it was a plum stone ?
I hope you went to the dentist or the emergency one, maybe the anxiety issues will be sorted.0 -
Slightly off topic but I went to an Indian restaurant last night and decided to try something new.
The waiter suggested a chicken tarka.
It's like a chicken tikka, but just a little otter.0
