MBNA? As far as I know, yes. The eligibility check is a compulsory first step. But you have to choose the card to apply for whereas Barclays eligibility check will match you and your credit history with cards across their whole range.
Yes sorry I meant MBNA. One assumes then that someone with Poor credit would be best advised to attempt to get their Credit Rebuild card?0 -
MBNA don't seem to offer an eligibility check on their Credit Building card (or not that I can see anyway) but it might be worth your time trying it on one of their other cards and see what the results return? It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0

I arent going to apply, it had just peaked my interest. You would t hink however that they would have it for their Credit Rebuild card as surely this is the one that a hard search could cause more harm for someone looking to rebuild their credit history?0

I just looked at the application for the 12 month credit builder card and it doesn't look like a eligibility check. Incredible I'd say. Maybe they don't do an eligibility check for that card because it's not needed which most likely means most applicants will be successful.
Since I started to rebuild my credit history which is now fully built I've always used moneysupermarket.com for everything and it hasn't failed me yet0 -
You may have a point. I thought I'd the soft eligibility check just to see - computer said no!
I am not going to attempt the Builder card, despite it not being able to trash my credit-ability more than it already is!0
