A maxi isa lets me put in 7G per year, 3G cash 4G shares? If i decide to go with the isa mentioned in the times article does this mean that the isa manger is buying and selling shares in the isa owners name up to 4G or do i choose the shares myself.
Depends on whether you get advice or not. Advisers (with funds) or stockbrokers (with shares) will give advice on the shares/funds you should buy. If you dont get advice, you pick the holdings. My point is does the share portion of a maxi isa behave like a normal investment fund with the fund manager having control over shares bought and sold?
If you buy investment funds, then the fund manager will look after the investments within their fund. If you buy shares, you take that responsibility (or the stockbroker does).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
