Sky billing

I'm having a problem with Sky hiking their bills without telling me. I did a deal - after several lengthy phone calls - last October for a broadband, phone and TV package at £27 a month, but my latest bill was for £37. It turned out they'd hiked the cost of Anytime calls from £5 to £8 a month, and international calls were no longer included in the package as they had been previously. They told me on the phone they had informed customers of the price hike by email but I did not receive any notification, nor did they tell me when I took out the contract that they were about to raise their prices. I perhaps naively thought that £27 monthly payment applied for the whole year. If I break my contract with them I have to pay a penalty but my fear now is they will keep raising their prices and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm on a tiny budget so every penny matters. Any ideas what I can do about this? I've already in the past been through the cancellation process (in order to negotiate a better deal than the one offered) but this I did not expect. Any advice gratefully received.

In the terms and conditions .See MSE post Sky price rise .

How much to break your contract now ??
Probably best to stay until contract ends then leave and they come back hopefully with an offer .
  • Sorry it's taken a while to respond - I couldn't find the thread in the forum. Thanks for your helpful reply, I guess it means more haggling and complaints and threats of cancellation.
