Opening First Direct current account

Hello, I am considering opening a First direct current account. However, in the past few months i opened quite a few current accounts and as a result, i have a lot of credit checks in short time period, including a reject from HSBC, exactly for this reason. My question is since First Direct are owned by HSBC, are they as picky and what are the chances i will be rejected due to the many recent credit checks?
If you do apply for First Direct account, keep us informed as to whether you were successful? I've seen posts from people who have been rejected by First Direct and then within a day or so accepted by HSBC but never vice versa, which makes me think First Direct are more choosy than HSBC.
If HSBC have definitely told you that the reason for rejection was too many credit checks in a short time period, then I still think you will be best leaving it for a couple of months before applying to First Direct to minimise the chance of another rejection. .0 -

I am still considering it, although it does seem like the chances of a reject are quite high and another credit check spent for nothing seems pointless. I heard that credit checks have ''limited impact'' after 6 months (if someone could clarify what this means that would be great) so i think i will wait for about that long before applying for anything else.
HSBC did not tell me exactly why they rejected me, but there is pretty much no other possible reason.0 -
Bit of a silly thing to say really. How do you know they'll be fine ? There are many other things that can cause declined applications apart from credit file information.
OP Was concerned about being declined due to multiple credit checks, I was merely comparing it to my switching to first direct last week after underground similar circumstances to OP my application was referred online but then accepted the next day.Ex Bank Manager. Emergency Fund: £400/£20000
