Moto G Software update

Options
My phone shows a message about software update to Marshmallow 6, but I am dubious, as last time I did a software update in my Nexus tablet, the tablet became so slow and lagging, that I stopped using it.
Any advise?

Marshmallow is good on the Moto G. Actually a little faster and better battery life. Go for it.

Mine too. Maybe they are rolling it out slowly to see if anyone starts to have problems. Got Lollipop for my MOTO E too only last week.

    I get the same result

Is your Moto G 1st generation (like mine)?

    Found this on one website:

"Motorola already confirmed that Moto G3 and Moto G2 devices will receive the Marshmallow update. But Moto G 1st Gen is not there in the official Marshmallow upgrade list. Some users expecting that Motorola may add Moto G1 later to this list. But custom roms based on Marshmallow will be available soon for Moto G1"
