When will my credit card help?

Options
Hello everyone,

I've had a credit card from Vanquis with a limit of £250 for a few months now and I've been using approximately roughly £70-£120 of it every month and paying my balance in full.

How long do I need to keep this up for in order for it to help me build a good credit history so I can apply for a better credit card, bank account and possibility a car on finance in the future.

Thank you!

Difficult to say as there are so many other factors to be taken into consideration.
  • It does vary from one provider to another but a rough gauge would be.....

At least 6 months before Vanquis will increase your credit limit.

Other more mainstream cards like to see at least 12 months of responsible credit card use, before a lot of their better deals are open to you.
