PPI refused what can I do next

My claim for PPI refund has been refused what can I do next.
My claim has taken over 3 yrs and been referred to FSA but still not upheld because it was not sold by a financial service.
I purchased some UPVC Windows and was offered a loan to cover the cost by the window salesman. This is where I believe there is a loop hole. My claim was refused because it was not sold by a financial institution. The salesman never explained the PPI and I just assumed it was all part and parcel of agreeing to loan . Surely this should not make any difference I was still sold PPI falsely.

  • I'm certain your complaint was referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) rather than the FSA. I'm also pretty certain that your complaint was rejected because the Window Company were not regulated at the time of the sale. Nothing to do with them not being a financial institution

Regardless, it sounds as though three years on your complaint has reached the end of the road….
  • You could always contact a PPI claims company. I know they take a slice of any monies won but something is better than nothing

A rejected complaint cannot be referred to a Claims Company. Indeed, if this is done and the CMC complains unsuccessfully again it can result in the customer being charged a fee for "Time wasting".

Complaints cannot be made over and over. Once rejected by both the original institution and the Ombudsman, the complaint is concluded.

CMCs use the same "free of charge" complaints method you use if you do it yourself. Also, published stats show CMCs have a lower success rate then DIY.

You cant access the FOS if the firm was not regulated at the time of sale. A CMC wont change that.
