Waiting to hear back from 10 job interviews

I've not heard of a PA working as a team member though.

In my experience your job is to 'protect' your boss?

In every interview I am asked about team work. Whilst a PA may work for one to four bosses, they also sit within a larger team. Covering for other secretaries and helping them if needed is also vital. In my last job, building a rapport with the other PAs was vital.

    I know the feelings.
I wish you good luck for finding a job.
  • It's just frustrating. I've had second interviews and not heard back yet - but for those I must have been coming across well to get through to the next round! Or does my personality differ from interview to interview?

I know the feeling too - four interviews in the last two weeks - one called back same day, one called four days later and two haven't called back at all :(

I wish these people would realise, or even give a monkeys just how demoralising it is when they do that, especially after an interview that you think has gone well

I won't say "keep your chin up" because that's the last thing I'd want anyone to tell me right now :( but good luck :)

This is very common in the financial sectors where I worked. The days of one secretary/PA working for just one boss are long gone.
In accountancy or law, it is common for them to work for a partner and a number of qualified and trainee staff and be part of a "team".

I had three interviews a month ago, and one gave me an immediate "no" the same day, and the others have not got in touch (despite regular phone calls to the agencies concerned), even though they wanted someone to start ASAP, and said then that they would be getting in touch with me the week following the interview.
