Has anybody bought a new build at Redrow's Mon Bank Newport S.Wales development?

Hi,

I am interested in buying a new build home in the Redrow Monbank development in Newport S.Wales and wondered if anybody has had the experience from buying on this estate?

Have you had any problems pre or post completion?
What was the process like?
Did Redrow offer any discounts or incentives?
What's the neighbourhood like?

I have also notices that there is a rail line towards the back of the development (I have been told it's a freight line), is this line used frequently? And is the noise really noticeable?

I am a FTB just looking for some info/guidance.

Thanks in advance :)

All of your queries could be answered by getting yourself down there.

Walk the estate, speak to residents. Job done.

We moved in to our house at Mon Bank in January. Sales process was easy and staff on site were great - the plot we bought was near completion so got carpets, floor tiles to kitchen and bathrooms, turf and dishwasher included although we didn't get a choice of kitchen units as they were already fitted. Couple of minor problems post completion (tv aerial point not working and leak from radiator) but both sorted really quickly.

Neighbourhood seems good so far although it's still an active site so there's some noise from the builders. We're pretty much in the middle of the site so there's no noise from the railway - when we looked at other plots we were told that it's a freight line to the docks and there's usually only 2-3 trains per day.

Happy to answer any other questions that you may have.
