HC2 valid after JSA claim ends?

I have a HC2 form which is valid until May. However my JSA claim will be ending in the next few weeks. Does the HC2 remain valid for the full 1 year regardless, or does it become invalid when the JSA claim ends?
Thanks. Sean
Thanks. Sean

It does, yes. You do not need to update a change in financial circumstances with a one year certificate.0

Do you mean it does remain valid, or it does become invalid?0

Great, thanks.0

I disagree, a change in circumstances means you should make a new application with your new circumstances.
If in doubt OP check with the NHS BSA who run the scheme, you can email through the website or message them on Facebook.0 -

No you don't have to make a new application this is from the NHS help with healthcosts website
NHS Low Income Scheme certificate.
If you qualify for help, we will send you an NHS certificate (HC2) for full help or an NHS
certificate (HC3) for partial help with health costs. The certificate will tell you who it covers,
what help it provides and how long it lasts.
If your circumstances change for the better, you do not need to report it, or return your
certificate. If your circumstances change for the worse, you should make another claim.
I take it the OP was on contribution based JSA as income based is a passported benefit for free prescriptions and there would be no need for a HC2 which is a low income scheme
