Buying Ex Company/Lease Cars

Hi, I am in the market for a new (used) car - and as per my last car I am looking for a 3/4 year old former company car usually with 100k + on the clock.
Does anybody know of any dealers that specialise in these.
I have found this site..
https://www.v12sportsandclassics.co.uk

But looking for somewhere in the North East ideally.

Thanks

  • Why do you want 100K + miles?
  • I think once cars hit the 100k mark the prices start to drop further - I am after an Audi A5 or A6 - or possibly a Mazada CX-5 or Ford S Max - to buy a reasonable second hand one your talking 15k + and my buget doesnt stretch that far!

Similar choices as me. Ex lease with a good service history and around 120k miles. Less than 100k prices are strong, when they pass 100k they get a bit cheaper and at 120 - 130k cheaper still.

Thats my buying point. Served me well for a few years now. You need to shop around ebay and autotrader etc.

Odd choice of cars though, A5/A6 totally different to the CX-5 and S-Max, Just cars you like the look of with no particular requirements?

Do you want a spare wheel? No space for one in the S-Max except in the boot.

No. In the comparable Zafira or Kia Carens, for example, they live in a cradle under the car.

    Before that the Peugeot 306.

Renault used to be under the bonnet.

Probably because they're great value when some people still think they're worthless yet have got massive life left in them if correctly serviced.

All my recent cars have been over 100k miles. I've had current one for 6 years, bought with 110k at 3 years old and no major issues since, now has 165k. Previously bought at 140k, 230k and again no problems.

The problem with high milers, currently, is the potential for verrrry costly repairs, if you choose diesel options. This is pretty much all makes, as well.

Years ago, high miles = fairly regular services and could help make the cars more of a bargain. Now, with long service intervals and not so frequent oil changes, it's quite easy for engines to run on contaminated and low oil levels, even using 'long life' lubricants, there are expensive bills looming.

and as mentioned, auctions if you feel there would be a saving...doubtful, once fees are added. But in M25 area...BCA Blackbushe has reasonable mileage stocks, while BCA Enfield tends to have over mileage choices.

That would be my fear too.

Diesel Particulate Filters, Dual Mass Flywheels, even turbos, fuel pumps and injectors dont seem designed to last the lifetime of the car, therefore you're really playing russian roulette with a big bill.
