Of family, kids etc. Just everyday shots when there is movement. When i look at online reviews, 'best' seems governed by megapixels and example pics are usually taken in daylight or of still objects.

My wife's iphone is much better than my current and previous phones (e.g. Nexus 4 -awful blurry, Oneplus One - much better, but not as good as the iphone).

Anything that is as good or near to the iphone for this kind of pic?
PReferrably I can buy outright and wouldn't break the bank - i.e. doesn't have to be a 2016 phone.

I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Depends on what features you want. I have a Galaxy S4 and it removes moving objects from images if you want. Ideal in a busy enviroment it removes people walking behind your subject.

I took a picture of my daughter standing in front of a mirror, It takes several shots to work out what to remove. Whilst it was taking the shots i moved and the picture came out great. A camera floating in mid air with 2 hands and no body..
I managed to take another where it removed the camera as well but its tricky with mirrors.

Panaramic shots also, stitches together pictures for an extra wide view or even a 360 degree one.

I like my S4 so much i wont be upgrading the phone currently.

Thanks that looks really interesting - some reviews saying the battery life lets it down which would be a no no for me as i have a long working day.

forgotmyname do you have the S4 zoom (with proper camera lenses) or a standard S4?

    Thanks for your suggestions guys.

I don't know if there is an out and out best, the iphone pics seem softened, the htc were supposed to be great in low light etc, but pics sent to me, still do not match the various Sony handsets I have had, since having the Satio, my digital camera has not been used.
  • My Samsung Galaxy S6 takes amazing photos, it beats my Lumix camera now and has all the photographic options if you want to take things further. Not sure how much they cost now - mine is nearly a year old.

I'll second the Galaxy S6...Great pictures. Prices are coming down as the S7 is imminent.

Also have a play with the LG G4, iPhone camera doesn't even come close. Quite remarkable considering the size.

Standard S4. 13MP. Indoor pictures with the flash do not seem as grainy as other phones i have used over the years.

Things are improving all the time.
