You should declare them now, it's a term of your licence that you declare certain changes to your health and I'm surprised your GP hasn't told you to call them.0

Oh and if your GP has told you to declare and you don't and then cause an accident you will be uninsured and likely to be prosecuted.0

I have been having blackouts/seizuire,the odd time during the day,but mainly at night. My gp is sending me to a neurologist for some tests.
If iam am diagnosed with epilepsy or some other type of seizure, will I have to give up my driving licence or would it be the case when my licence is up for renewal and the doctor has to sign it and let them no then?
And you are risking behind the wheel when one happens?

You must tell DVLA if you suffer from fits, seizures or convulsions.
You can be fined up to £1,000 if you don’t tell DVLA about a medical condition that affects your driving. You may be prosecuted if you’re involved in an accident as a result.

I don't even own a car anymore and NO,i would not risking driving.
I was just asking "if" I am diagnosed,is it up to me or my GP to notify the dvla?0 -
Its up to you and you really should do it now, but if you definitely don't intend on driving then I would leave it till diagnosis.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

It's up to you to tell the DVLA and you shouldn't wait until you have a diagnosis - you're having the seizures now.0 -
I am calling them "seizures",but iam not shaking rolling around the floor.i get a real intence headache for a few mins and feel foggy afterwards.
That's why I want a diagnose.0 -
You don't really have any choice but to notify the DVLA, because it's only their opinion that counts, not the opinions on an internet forum.
Whatever you do, don't phone asking for advice, because the call centre operators are not authorised to give it, and they're liable to confiscate your licence on the spot. If you send the form by post you may get to keep your licence whilst they make a decision.0 -

Unfortunately not always the case , the bin lorry guy has gotten away with killing people and has not had to face any consequences. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
